Tax Sale – Monday, June 15th, 2026

The 2026 Buena Vista County Tax sale will begin at 9:00 AM on Monday, June 15th, 2026. The sale will be conducted at the Buena Vista County Courthouse and all bidders shall place their bids online. Bidders need not be present at the courthouse.

NOTICE TO TAX SALE PURCHASERS 2025

Tax Department/Management

Processes property tax statements for 20,000 parcels on real estate, mobile homes, drainage, and special city assessments.
Responds to tax inquiries throughout the year.
Administers the Iowa Property Tax Program
Distributes the levied collections to schools, cities, and all other taxing agencies
Conducts the annual Tax Sale for the collection of delinquent taxes on the 3^rdMonday of June every year.
Manages financial administration and services for banking, cash management, and investments.

Note: Any payment of suspended tax, or redemption of a tax sale can not be done through the website. You must contact the Buena Vista County Treasurer’s office (712) 749-2533, or visit the office to make these payments.

For your convenience a drop box is located on the east side of the Courthouse and can be used for all Courthouse payments.
